Financing for Water Infrastructure and Technologies: Challenges and Opportunities in the Current Economic Climate
Viable infrastructure projects often bemoan the lack of financing opportunities while funding mechanisms often express the deficit of 'bankable' projects. Matching buyers and sellers has been difficult under normal circumstances. So how has the credit crisis affected financing for water infrastructure and technologies? Are projects doomed to wait for banks to recover? Does the current crisis present opportunities that would otherwise not be pursued such as "green" projects? How has R&D been affected? How can companies leverage on government stimulus packages? How can 'buyers' and 'sellers' of infrastructure and technologies take advantage of the emerging global financial architecture?
Key decision-makers and experts from the World Bank Group, Japan Bank for International Cooperation, XPV Capital, McKinsey & Company as well as from investment banks and infrastructure companies will address these compelling and timely questions at this forum, the first of its kind at the Water Week. This forum is jointly organised by PUB Singapore, World Bank and Japan Bank for International Cooperation.
