The inaugural Singapore International Water Week in 2008 has attracted 42 co-located events held alongside the pillar events – Water Leaders Summit, Water Convention and Water Expo. The numbers of co-located events in 2009 has surpassed the previous year with a total of 76 co-located events, adding to more buzz to the water week.
The highlights of the co-located events in 2009 are the 7th Ministers' Forum on Infrastructure Development in the Asia Pacific Region and the International Water Association - Leading Edge Technologies Conference. The Ministers’ Forum discussed on key topic of “Integrating Water Infrastructure Planning with Sustainable Urban Development” and was attended by some 60 water infrastructure and environment ministers and senior officials from Brunei Darussalum, China, Hong Kong SAR, Columbia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Western Australia. Senior Officials at the meeting agreed to promote integrated water resources management for sustainable urban development and to reduce water disaster risk due to population growth and climate change. Alongside meetings, there are conferences/workshops, ceremonies, launches as well as networking reception held co-located to SIWW 09.
For the 2010 Singapore International Water Week, some of the key co-located events include the 2nd World Cities Summit and the inaugural Asia Pacific Water Ministerial Forum. The Singapore International Water Week will see many other co-located events including conferences/workshops/symposiums, meetings, award ceremonies, networking events, media launches and water activities.
