We are inviting cities and coastal/flood regulatory authorities to join us at SIWW2024.
Complex climate shifts are having profound impacts on cities, with more frequent and intense flooding and storm surges, increasing episodes of droughts, and threats of sea-level rise to coastline developments.
At Singapore International Water Week 2024 this June, we have lined up a series of programmes to foster knowledge exchange and sharing of innovative flood management and coastal protection solutions:
- COASTAL AND FLOOD RESILIENCE CITIES ROUNDTABLE (18 June 2024)
A by-invitation closed-door Roundtable for senior city officials and regulators to meet with their peers for open exchanges and sharing of experiences in policy intervention, community engagement, and innovative solutions to build climate-resilient cities. Sessions that will be presented at the Roundtable:
- Resilient Future: Shaping Effective Climate Adaptation Approach for Cities to Adapt to Increasing Risk of Floods
- Innovative Levers and Enabling Factors That Help to Build Coastal Resilient Cities
- COASTAL AND FLOOD RESILIENCE LEADERS SUMMIT (20 June 2024)
Augmenting the Roundtable will be a half-day Leaders Summit, where industry partners will present successful coastal and flood management projects implemented in global cities. This will be followed by panel discussions on how cities can leverage the expertise of the private sector, international organisations and multilateral banks.
- Plenary 1: Adaptive Planning Approach for Coastal and Flood Management in Cities
- Plenary 2: Innovative Implementation Approach in Building a Climate Resilience City
- WATER CONVENTION (18 – 21 June 2024)
Co-organised with the International Water Association, the Water Convention will feature more than 50 applied case studies, best practices and technological innovation in coastal protection and flood management in the theme "Cities of the Future and Coastal & Flood Resilience".
- THEMATIC AND BUSINESS FORUMS (20 June 2024)
Covering emerging trends, opportunities and challenges on climate impacts, the Forums will uncover trends, solutions and high-impact collaboration projects across various coastal/flood themes and regional markets.
- TECHNICAL SITE VISITS (18 and 22 June 2024)
As an island city state vulnerable to floods and sea-level rise, Singapore is putting in place strategies and projects to protect itself against extreme weather events and rising seas. Visit some of Singapore’s projects and facilities during the technical site visits.

First-Ever Coastal Protection and Flood Resilience Zone at the SIWW2024 Water Expo!
In line with the new pillar on climate adaptation, specifically coastal protection and flood resilience, at SIWW2024, the Water Expo will feature a Coastal Protection and Flood Resilience Zone for the very first time. Designed to provide exhibitors with direct access to target audiences, such as officials from municipal cities and regulatory authorities, the thematic zone also offers exhibitors added visibility to existing and prospective customers.
