Dr Arjen van Nieuwenhuijzen

R&D and Innovation Director Circular and Biobased Solutions at Witteveen+Bos Consulting Engineers with 25 years of professional experience. He currently acts as program coordinator for ReCirc Singapore and as project manager Jurong Island Circularity Scan.

As part-time Associate Professor at Wageningen University & Research he holds the position as Industry Principle Investigator on Circular Urban Resources at the Advanced Metropolitan Institute (AMS) in Amsterdam. Dr. Van Nieuwenhuijzen was educated as civil engineering and has a PhD in process technology and has ample experience in resource recovery, water reuse, sludge, renewable energy projects all over the world; with a focus area in Europe and South East Asia. Dr. Van Nieuwenhuijzen is the initiator and developer of the Water and Resource Refinery concept.
