Dr Cai Qinqing’s core research interest is in advanced oxidation process (AOP), focusing on emerging contaminants removal, antibiotic resistance genes control, water disinfection and recalcitrant organics removal in industrial wastewater. Overall, Dr Cai’s research aims at achieving the following objectives: 1) optimizing Ozone and Fenton based processes for recalcitrant industrial wastewater treatment; 2) developing novel UV processes for antibiotic resistance mitigation; 3) developing sustainable AOP-biological processes for water reclamation and reuse.
