Dr. Bartels has a BS in Chemistry from Baylor University and a PhD from Northwestern University in Material Science. Since entering industry, he has over 37 years of experience in all facets of membrane technology, both application and development. He has 22 patents and numerous publications, including contributions to 2 books on RO/NF technology. He has previously held technical and management positions at Texaco Inc, Fluid Systems, and Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. He currently holds the position of VP of Technology at Hydranautics, a Nitto Denko Group Company. His duties include identifying new technologies, overseeing Hydranautics Intellectual Property, managing joint development activities, new product development and process implementation at customer plants.
