Sharad Somani

Sharad leads the infrastructure advisory practice for KPMG covering the Asia Pacific region. His primary focus is to assist clients in their energy transition and digital transformation journey. With over 25 years of techno-commercial experience, Sharad has worked with governments, utilities, multilaterals, and private sector developers as well as funds across the sector value chain from conceptualisation to financing and asset management. He is passionate about bringing technology and innovative financing solutions to the clients for better infrastructure delivery.

Sharad has worked extensively with utilities and energy companies in the region. Specifically, he is leading the Energy Transition Mechanism for ADB in SE Asia, has helped implement water sector PPPs in Singapore (NEWater and Desalination projects); waste management projects in Singapore (Waste to energy PPPs); procured over 3GW of aggregate solar IPPs in Bahrain, Dubai, Indonesia and Vietnam; and carried out electricity utility restructuring / regulatory advisory in Brunei, India, Singapore, and Vietnam.

Sharad is engineer and MBA by training and is Partner & Head of Infrastructure Advisory at KPMG based in Singapore.
