K.G.Matzen non-metallic sludge/grit collector system provides a perfect solution for the sludge removal in various rectangular tanks. It is mainly composed of drive device, drive chain, sprocket, collector chain, head shaft and scraper flight. The torque from drive motor and speed reducer is transmitted through the non-metallic drive chain and sprocket to the head shaft of the sludge collector. And then the collector chain assembled with scraper flights starts to rotate when driven by head shaft sprocket, with the flights conveying continually the sludge via sweeping of the floor to the end of the tank, and removing the floating scum of the surface of water to the scum pipe.
The main components of K.G.Matzen sludge collector are manufactured by non-metallic material with the properties of high strength, low material density and excellent anti-corrosion, which can achieve nearly the same mechanical properties as metal material. Furthermore, it’s quite convenient for the installation in site and later maintenance due to its low weight. The sludge collector can be capable to working continuously for 24h per day.
