SW-ERM® (Environmental Risk Management)
SWI Group SRL
SW Environmental Risk Management (SWERM) is an advanced control system designed to prevent the discharging of potentially harmful contaminants into water bodies. It consists of a monitoring system, combined with a valve system and a control unit (PLC). The whole system is remotely controlled via SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Analysis). SWERM can also be equipped with solar panels that ensure independence from the electric grid.
SWERM is equipped with a monitoring system (sensors and probes) and a smart control unit to monitor the quality of incoming water to the treatment plant, and can discriminate between the “dry” condition and the “wet” condition (i.e. in the presence of rain).
The smart control unit instantly processes water quality data received by the monitoring system and, if necessary, controls the opening/closing of the valve system ensuring high environmental safety even during exceptional spillage events. If a warning situation is detected, the valve system can completely close the outfall in 1 second
