About
The Water Convention welcomes water practitioners and leaders to share their best practices, strategies and applied technological solutions which address the challenges and provide opportunities under the following domains or themes:
- Delivering Water from Source to Tap
- Effective and Efficient Wastewater Value Management
- Water for Liveability and Resilience
- Water Quality and Health
The focus of this technical programme is on high quality presentations, discussions with thought leaders, and debates with peers on applied technologies, processes, and practical approaches that address current challenges and emerging issues.
Members of Professional Engineers Board Singapore (PEB)
The Water Convention is qualified for PDU points by PEB. A maximum of 18 PDU points will be awarded to local delegates participating in the Water Convention from 8 - 11 July.

Members of ABC Water Professionals (ABCWP)
The ABC Waters Professional Monitoring Committee has approved PDU points for ABC Waters Professionals (ABCWP) who attend the Water Convention during SIWW2018. 3 PDU points will be awarded per day, and hence up to 9 PDU points for professionals who attend all 3 days of the convention.

Cities have become the world’s dominant demographic and economic clusters, and we are seeing the rise of “megacities”. Increasing urbanisation, rising demand for resources like water, and climate change will challenge many cities’ potential to be engines of progress and prosperity. How should water, environment and transport management evolve to keep pace with urbanisation? Cities must be ready to embrace innovative ideas and solutions for the development of liveable and sustainable cities of the future.
Jointly organised by SIWW, WCS and CESS, the Opening Plenary will see high-level speakers from government, international organisation and industry sectors share insights into cross-disciplinary urban, water and environmental policies, management strategies and solutions; and highlight trends in these focus areas.
