Industrial Water Solutions Forum (IWSF)
21 June 2024
09:00am - 4:00pm
Room 10, Level 3
About
Asia's prominence in critical industries is driven by its massive consumer market, which bolsters the food and beverage sector, pharma, and energy; its investment in technology and manufacturing, which cements its status as a semiconductor powerhouse; and its combination of low labour costs, historical expertise, and raw material availability, which positions it at the forefront of the global textile industry. Water is a materiality risk for these sectors.
IWSF is a technology and innovation forum that showcases the latest industrial water technology innovations, aimed at achieving corporate water sustainability objectives by improving water efficiency and reducing environmental impact through the implementation of circular economy solutions.
Targeted at industrial water end-users in sectors such as manufacturing, F&B and semiconductors, the forum intends to:
- Enable participants to learn how innovative water technologies solve industrial water management challenges
- Keep abreast on technology developments for wastewater treatment, recycle and resource recovery
- Network with technology companies from around the world

Introduction to Industrial Water Solutions Forum
Achieving Water Security While Striving to Meet ESG Goals

Technology Solutions for Industrial Water Efficiency
Global corporations are pressured to reduce water usage at their main facilities to ensure business continuity and improve shareholder value through better ESG ratings. Optimising water efficiency is essential but complex, balancing water usage reduction, discharge limits, energy consumption, initial investment costs, and ongoing operational expenses. The challenge is compounded by the industrial market's expectation for a quick return on investment, typically within three years, during which such expenditures are still viewed as costs rather than investments.

Technology Solutions for Resource Recovery and Circular Economy
The circular economy is the way forward for global corporations looking to balance economic prosperity, environmental conservation, and social well-being. Transforming industrial practices and embracing innovative approaches is the key to unlocking circular operating and business models for growth while building resilience in supply chains. The challenge will be to create a complete system change, from sourcing materials to manufacturing to reuse. This will be overcome by adopting various strategies, includingembracing emerging technologies which enable circular modes of resource use, such as those that can recover metals and minerals from liquid streams.

De-risking Technology Adoption Process
This session will enable technology end-users and technology developers/vendors to gain insights into how the process of trialling, adopting, and rolling out new methods or technologies across a business can be de-risked. The risk reduction can be achieved by utilizing best practices in the articulation of the business case, the technical capabilities, and the unique value proposition. Part of this de-risking comes from understanding how to make projects bankable for leveraging external investment. The target audience is technology seekers and vendors in the water industry and adjacent sectors where water use and wastewater management or treatment must be addressed.
Moderator: Jo Burgess, Global Head of Trial Reservoir, Isle Group
